A Guide To Choosing Your Class

Too bad I didn't see this guide sooner.

I chose Buccaneer as my first character.
She is loads of fun now.

The first character always seems to be the hardest.
Now I have a little bit of an idea of how to build my characters.

I disagree about being hurt alot as a musketeer. I rarely get touched. It sounds like you are playing a 'hunter' as a rusher. Which is something that will kill you.

What you do is make sure your top companions are Swashbucklers or Buccaneers. You send them out infront of you making a wall and you shoot from behind them. I rarely even use my traps until my mates are set around me so that I take least damage. That is why we are given so much range, because we are NOT rushers.

If you've ever played WoW you know DPS stays in that back while the tanks do the dirty work. You are DPS. Your crew are tanks.

So far I find it's the best class in the game!

DPS: Damage Per Swing

The term DPS actually stands for Damage Per Second - it's used to describe the average of your damage over time. All classes do DPS - High DPS means a higher than average rate of damage based on a mean average of all classes.

Swash is more like the tank

Buccaneers are given the highest health and armor in the game, but Swashbucklers live off damage and movement. There aren't any tank attributes of Swasbuckler superior to Buccaneer. Unless you're literally taking the battlefield thing with the powerful blaster on top, Buccaneers are tanks. Period.

I think it's wrong.The swashbucklers, like me, could have alot of health from their clothes, for instance, I have 514 health and I'm a level 16 swashbuckler, so it shouldn't really say they don't have much health.

How many times must I say this: Swashes focus on damage, which is the opposite of a tank, and movement, not health and armor/resist like the REAL tanks, Buccaneers and Privateers.
