Commander Davis inside of fort basset refers to George Fleming Davis, a naval commander in WWII awarded with the medal of honor

English Bill aka The Duck of Death.

I am thinking is based on English Bob.
Played by the late Richard Harris in the movie Unforgiven.

Gene Hackman's character Little Bill gets his hands on a dime store novel about English Bob.
The title reads "The Duke of Death". But Little Bill calls it the Duck of Death.

Re: A Pirate's Guide to the Easter Eggs Around the Spiral

Actually Blind Mew has said how Louis' name is conceived.

Here's what Blind Mew said in the post:

Louis is indeed from Valencia. Why then, does he have such an outrageous French accent? Well, back when the character was first conceived, his name (derived from not one but TWO crab dishes) implied that he needed to feel as French as possible. So his voice is the way it is because it's funny.

Much like Gandry, I expect he spent a long time in Polaris - perhaps he was raised there, only returning to Valencia in adulthood, and turning to a life of piracy not long after.

Don't forget about the Firefly references in Cool Ranch and again in Mooshu. There's Doctor Tam and Captain Reynolds in Cool Ranch and Captain Reynolds makes another appearance in Mooshu. Oh and there's a smoking crate behind Doctor Tam which I could only assume is River Tam, his sister. I think there may have been a reference to Jane Cobb too but I can't remember off the top of my head.

Some how I keep thinking that Yum-Yum Fruit is a reference to One Piece with the Gum-Gum Fruit. Not sure if it's just a coincidence or intended.

I've posted this one on an another thread, but I think it should be posted here as well:
Bonnie Anne's brother Guy Fox is a spitting image of Guy Fawkes and the whole story line for the quest resembles the events happened on 5th November, known as "Gunpowder Plot":

Re: A Pirate's Guide to the Easter Eggs Around the Spiral

I found a mistake, in-game "Wyatt Earp" is called "Wyatt Chirp" NOT Earp. So Wyatt Chirp is the Magnificent Seven member, whilst Wyatt Earp is the real life counterpart.
Wimpy Luke Nightingale Level 70 Privateer (Chilling out) / Tall Joseph Nightingale Level 67 Witchdoctor (Valencia Pt. 2) / Wolf Level 44 Buccaneer (Subata, Mooshu) ‚Äč/

The original opera was written by Arthur Sullivan and W. S. Gilbert. And guess what the next npcs we have to talk to are named.

Then Gilbert drops this line, a reference to HMS Pinafore, another Gilbert and Sullivan opera.

There's a lot of ones I probably missed, too.
