Yes - Crowns make all the difference. If you can buy mega snacks, or if you have a bunch of Crowns you don't mind spending on finishing the timers quickly, etc...

Until Pirate101 gets Member Benefits like Wizard101 and we get double xp, etc., it does take a long time to get to Level 70 the free way.
