    6 Range Staffy Weapons

    Out of the two 6 range staffy weapons (Phule's Wand and Moo Manchu's Wand), which would be better for Privateer or Witchdoctor characters? Would both be worth getting, or would just one of them be enough?

    I should think one or the other would work, but many pirates farm for both.

    Moo Manchu’s Wand will undoubtedly be better over Phule’s wand based on the damage. While witch hunter is always nice to have, you will hardly encounter another Witchdocotor in ranked and the odds are that they most likely won’t even be in range to chain trigger the witch hunter epics. If you’re talking about PvE, then it doesn’t matter since they both give 6 range.

    As for Privateers, running a staffy weapon is not recommended since you lose out on your repel boarders and on any big damage attacks you may carry. Your bombs are already universal as well as the 3 team heals and your buffs. The only advantage of running a 6 range weapon would be for the extended range healing of your companions which can be quickly focused down by your opponent. If you still insist on using a staffy weapon, I would recommend the HaywireWarmageRegalia which comes with Haywire strike and Surge of technomancy.

    Phules wand is good in the early game but once your witchdoctor gets some more epics or you privateers gets firstmate's boon, Moo Manchu's Wand would be a needed upgrade. However, the damage might be too low for some, and thats why they aren't as popular now (at least I think).

    if you don't have either, farm for phules. much easier and better for a witch imo.

    Nefarious Staff is also a viable build for staffy privateer for PVP, but it requires a very specific practice point and pet setup. (Readied Spell 3, 2 ranks from the secret trainer and 1 from pet grant, Ghostwail etc.) Gear would include Mournsongs instead of Assassin Strikes. (Dr. Noh's Tunic instead of Imperator's Panoply for example.)

    I had a friend who got to hero in spring season 2018 using a staffy privateer build like this, then he ran out of opponents to face and gave up on ranking. He seems to have quit Pirate since then. :/

    Anyways, to stay on topic, both Phule's Wand and Moo Manchu's Wand are fine for PVE. Neither is especially better than the other.
