Is the Kane battle easy for an expert in Chess?

I just read on this page that "Kane is only able to move one space, similar to the king piece in chess.", and also that he is accompanied by Armada Marine (The Machine Core). If the Armada Marine "crosses the chessboard to the Pirate's side, they will turn into a Queen."

So, can an expert in Chess do the Kane battle easily based on those facts?

Unless the version of chess you're an expert in has a secret special piece only acquired by defeating an obsidian pirate lord and taking his coat, I don't think the knowledge is very transferable, unfortunately.
