Silver stallion help!

Okay, this is getting ridiculous.
This is my 6th failed attempt at trying this stupid quest and I haven't been able to eliminate a single enemy.
The duck is invincible so that's not an option, and 3 of my crew were down before we had a chance to take one out.
I mean, if this quest is available at Level 21, shouldn't it be possible to accomplish?

And please none of this "well just eliminate them one at a time" because I'll just ignore you. By the time the fires are out, two of my crew are down. Then, I'm left with two and the combat is over.
I've maxed them all out, tried to find the best gear I can find, and use whatever dubloons are available to me.
I can't afford to pay for crowns so that's not an option.
One enemy did more damage with two hits (must be nice to his twice in one round) than my entire team did in one round.
At this point, I cannot continue with the quest, and there is nothing left to do. Advancing in level with those piddly little quests is not an option either. I'm not here to grind till I'm blind.
The game was mildly amusing, but at this point it's nothing but frustration piled upon frustration.
Hopefully, I can get an answer or useful suggestions (anyone saying "get good" will be reported) if not, I'm done with this game altogether.
I cancelled my membership with wizard 101 for the exact same reason and I have no qualms doing so with this one.

I'd be curious to know which companions you are using in this battle, that they are being defeated so quickly. Swashbucklers? Did you try it with some buccaneers with some range of movement, like Ratbeard? Or ranged attackers like Bonnie Anne? If you are using the same team over and over again, your solution may be to change it up.

IGNORE THE ENEMIES and concentrate on the fires. The reason we have companions of differing abilities is that some of them are better in certain situations. Avoiding training them, either via tomes or the Brawling task serves only to handcap your team in the long run. At higher levels, gold is plentiful -- the daily Party Barge quests at your level 21 will give you 20,000 gold per day.

Alternatively, you can make a friend and form a group, thereby going into the instance with more than one pirate. This would give you twice as many allies who could put out fires.

I have the Cowboy, the Buffalo, Bonnie Anne and My character. I am a Musketeer (which I heard is one of the least favorable classes)

But since we always end up on one side of the board, two of the fires are pretty easy to put out, but the second two take, at minimum 2 turns to get into range. At that point, the duck has reduced at least two of my crew to less than half hitpoints. And it's pretty much over.

In one case, one badguy literally took out two of my crew. They do amounts of damage I can only dream about!
As I said, ALL my crew are maximum level. The only one that isn't is the Cowboy (sorry can't remember the name) because when I got him, he was 2 levels above me. We're even now.
I guess this is one of those "pay to win" scenarios.
Ah well, it was kinda fun while it lasted.

Okay, well, musketeers aren't working for you -- what level are your buccaneers? Do you have any gear with a hiding power like Walk in Shadows? Have you thought about getting a friend to help?

It ISN'T pay to win at all. You just have to be willing to try something different.

I'm curious as to what powers and talents you trained on your companions. That fight shouldn't be difficult at all. I don't want to sound mean, but if you're struggling in Cool Ranch, find a max level friend to help you or level up with some side quests before trying this fight again. There's clearly something inadequate in your battle strategy. Also, this game is not pay-to-win gear-wise as all the best gear can be farmed for with membership (which I assume you have as you're in Cool Ranch).

Yeah, that's what I thought too at first.
When I asked the first time, the only reply was "try to die slowly".
Needless to say, I left. Clearly the community in this game is NOT what it is in Wizard 101.
