I'd like to point out Witch Hunter triggers before a magic attack, not after... therefore it also doesn't depend on whatever the magic attack lands or not. Not sure if this fit a trigger guide but the Witch Hunter damage isn't rooted at Weapon Power like other epics, instead it's based off the difference of Spell Power between the unit attacking and the unit responding through the epic.

I didn't know that bit about the weapon power and spell power. Let's say you want to keep Witch Hunter from doing much damage to your witchdoctor, raising your spell power as much as possible would make the damage from Witch Hunter go down? Or would it go up?

I personally like information like this in beginner guides. It probably would go in the notes section if it was added.

Heyy, sorry I just saw this! I do know that in PVE, if let's say you're using Gracie Conrad against Moo Manchu or the new Old Scratch, if you boost her spell power using your own Old Scratch's mojo buffs, her witch hunter will do more damage when it activates.

I am not sure about the PVP part though. Maybe @quentin could answer?

The damage that witch hunter does to you as a witch doctor will not be affected by your own spell power. The only thing that you could do to reduce damage is use some type of shield (fort, absorb, etc) or just hope that witch hunter misses

Also note that if you have more then one epic type lets say burst fire and relentless it triggers it will trigger that respective Epic response. I found that having burst fire lets say on my buc will trigger true grit from a enemy which can trigger burstfire or Double tap which get crazy in higher worlds. For that reason having melee vs range is always ideal other wise the later can be a real surprise.

Evil Eye, Eye Swarm, and Ocuboros also all reduce damage done by Witch Hunter, since it's based off of spell power.
